Description

This vibrant, eye-catching creation features Bohemian and Austrian glass crystals. We used the colours of the French flag, blue, red and white.

The colour blue represents wisdom, justice and faith. It is believed blue colorants started to be developed 6000 years ago. The ancient Egyptians loved that colour. The church in the Antiquity gave Mary’s’ robe the colour blue. In the French flag blue symbolises liberty and freedom.

White represents simplicity, modernity, purity and innocence. White is one of the first colours used in art. 18,000 years ago in the French cave of Lascaux, white is used to draw animals. In the French flag white symbolises equality.

Red is the colour of power, passion, love and pleasure. In the French flag it symbolises brotherhood. During the stone age humans used red clay to draw on caves. In the Middle Ages red became the colour for power. The King Charlemagne wore red shoes at his coronation.

The Czech Republic is one of the world’s leading glass bead manufacturers. The artisans started making glass beads in Bohemia in the 16th century. The pressed, fired-polished glass beads are very popular in jewellery making as the beads are strong and smooth
